same prob here...

Thank you for contacting Altec Lansing support. At the current time we do
not have AMS software compatible with Win2000. We are currently in the
process of developing some compatible software. When it is developed, it
will be on our web site at www.altecmm.com -> customer support -> download
files.

Sound does not come through the USB port Make sure you have connected the
audio cable from the subwoofer to the audio out port of your computer. The
same functionality of the AMS software can be gotten by using the buttons
on the speakers and the volume control software that comes with your
Windows system. If you double click the speaker icon from the system tray,
that will open this software up. You can download the manual from our web
site at www.altecmm.com -> product line.

With the USB connector removed or the computer turned off, STEREO or PRO
LOGIC modes can be selected by depressing and holding the center control
down for approximately three seconds. The mode selected will be indicated
by the color of the LED on the front right speaker. When the light glows
yellow it is in the STEREO mode. When the light is green it is in the PRO
LOGIC mode.

We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

I never liked that usb cable anyway that software was a resource hog so i ditched it and did all my settings with the dials in Me and 2k.
