altec lansing sound like crap!

Why is it that my ada880 surround speaker settings (when i put the satellites on the sides and use surround mode) sound soooooo WEAK! They sound muffled and quieter. It sounds much better just using 2 speakers. Don't get me wrong, I luv this speaker system but I feel that the 2 satellite speakers are just a waste. Why don't they just make a powerful 2 speaker 1 woofer system? Save me the trouble of storing these stupid side speakers!

Sounds like something not hooked-up correctly. BUT... I don't have a clue what's wrong.

You do have the correct Windows settings, right? (Control Panel>Multimedia>Advanced Properties>Speaker Setup>"Surround Sound&quot

Sometimes the amps on Altec speakers go bad. I've even had new Altecs with bad amps. Why don't you give Altec a call or email?
