Here you go:

1) Click on http://www.staples.com/Products/Themes/Special_Offers/Staples/20_OFF_50/ <= This will take you to a page that shows you a $20 off $50 coupon. This coupon is PUBLIC as it is advertised all over the net in banners. This coupon is not limited to any particular group of people.

2) Search for item IM1205669 and add it to your cart (these are the speakers)

3) Check out and use coupon code you got to reduce your total to $34.49

4) Go to http://www.staplesrebates.com/clients/staples/rebates/search.jsp and select Altec Lansing as the manufacturer. You will see a $20 rebate for these speakers. The rebate is only valid for purchases between 08/31 and 09/09, so please hurry!

Enjoy!

<< Are they any good? >>

I got these speakers last year for $50 at OfficeMax, and I love them.
The sub doesn't kick as much as I would want it to, but the satellites put out SUPER clear/clean/crisp sound.

Another thing, there is only one volume control for the whole setup.
Would of been nice to have one volume control for the satellites and one for the sub.

I thought it was a good price at $50, but at $14.49 this a kick butt deal!

great job bigs!!!

just ordered for $15...how could you go wrong...

one thing i did notice though, the sku # and item # don't match up on the rebate form...but since it did say acs33, you could always argue it.

wonder if there are any pm around the net that we can call in for.

just realized that buy.co has it for 36 + s/h...will call in tomorow
for pricematch and get these for free

I just ordered from staples as well....never price matched before..but I am as we speak.

The CSR says she has to add in what buy.com would charge for shipping..so they match at the 36.00 plus shipping, which is like 10.00..... Is that standard operating procedure for them, so they price match to 46.89, then less the 20.00 coupon is 26.89, then less 20.00 rebate is 6.89 plus tax.

Is this correct : )

You CAN pricematch this deal to make it even sweeter but YES, Staples will pretend that they have overnight delivery and will pricematch the other retailer's cost + shipping charges you would incur if you ordered from the other company WITH overnight delivery! (holy run-on eh?). Nothing you can do about that, it's just one of Staples' great policies :)

I just got my order in for these. Let's hope that it actually gets delivered. I didn't do the price match...I figure I can pay $15 for these and be quite happy with that :)

Thanks for the deal....

Just an enhancement to the deal:

Staples has a flyer showing a pair of Altec Lansing Speakers with subwoofer for $29.98 after rebate. (SKU 383530)

Call 1-800-3-STAPLES and order item # IM1205669. Ask the CS rep to match the newspaper price. The web price is $54. Add a pack of rubberbands (PLY12381 - 26 cents). Then use a 20 off 50 code (90524)!

Go to the rebate section and print out the $20 rebate form for this item. Model number is ACS33. Should be around $10 plus tax delivered.

I just called staples and they say that the $20 MIR only applies for the B&M local store. (Rebate applies to ACS-33 Computer Speakers (SKU 383530) purchased at Staples stores only). I asked him if he was sure and he said "ya, local stores have different prices and deals so purchasing throught the internet store might not qualify for the $20 MIR at staplesrebates.com." This sucks!

I just called and talked to a csr at staples.

she said they WOULD honor delivery rebates...she called their rebate department and they said dont worry about it if the coupone says store only.they will still honor it.

I guess it depends on whom you talk to..I had called to cancle my order..but left it as is based on what she said.

They WILL honor the rebate if purchased online. The CSRS that I've spoken to have told me that Staples.com is just as much a "store" as the Staples B&M stores, so any rebate valid for a B&M store would also be valid for .com purchases.

Well....the Staples rebate coupon is very specific about the SKU (383530) it applies to.....

And the online SKU bigbigsavings gave for the LCS-33 is different (IM1205669)...

I also wonder if rebates will work since Staples is VERY specific about which SKU works with the rebate.....

ya, why would the SKU#'s be different? You guys should check into that before deciding to jump in on this deal...as Staples is notorious when it comes to rebates. Post back with your findings :)

Hey KeyzerSoze,
The store price is $49.98 and this is not $50 so the $20 off cannot be use.

Why not pricematch staples with onvia?
http://www.onvia.com/usa/products/index.cfm?Task=ViewProduct&SearchText=altec%2520lansing&IdCatalog=2431711

Price is 40.46 w/ free shipping. Staples will match price and then use 20 dollar coupon. Price = $20. Then use $20 MIR. Price is $0.00

UPDATE
Didn't work. I called and they did pricematch onvia but they wouldn't take the coupon becuase the total was $40 and the coupon was for $20 off $50. Is it possible to just use the $20 off $50 coupon with staples price and then call back later and ask them to pricematch with onvia after the purchase took place? Sorry for any confusion.

:::::Although:::::: mikedw said he made a purchase of less than $50 and still was able to get the csr to use the $20 off $50? Is this correct mikedw? CSR would not do it for me.

Bad_Dude, You gotta add something to bump it over $50. Like I said, you can add a pack of rubberbands (PLY12381 - 26 cents), then use a 20 off 50 code (90524). Or you can find something more useful than rubber bands =)

"The store price is $49.98 and this is not $50 so the $20 off cannot be use"

What are you guys talking about? the price is $54.49 at the website? Or are you talking about the B&M store?

I am about to do this deal. Plz correct me if i'm wrong

Purchase speakers at 54.49, apply $20. Current price is $34.49. Then I call in Staples and ask them to pricematch Onvia (price is $40.46 with free shipping) and they will adjust the price to $20.46? Is this correct? I am wondering will they actually PM an order that is already at $34.49 w/ coupon applied, as this is cheaper than Onvia's price of $40? that is my main concern. thx

Website price is $54. Newspaper price is $49.98.
Call Staples to order, they will give you the website price of $54. Tell them you want to pricematch with the advertised price of $49.98. They'll do it. Then add something small...in my example, rubberbands that cost $0.26. That'll bring it to $50.24. Then use the $20 off $50 and it'll knock it down to $30.24. Do the $20 rebate and that'll knock your final price down to $10.24 and if there are any applicable taxes. Pushing it over $50 will also save you on shipping as they'll ship for free.

Btw, the rebate is NOT instant, so you'll end up paying $30.24 at the end of the order. Rebate is up to you to do.

Okay people, this really isn't too hard. So here we go. :)

1. Your oder has to be over $50 for the coupon to work, either via the web or if you are talking to a customer service rep.

2. You can place your oder, and then call and price match. Guess what? It still has to be over $50 for the coupon. So order something else as well.

3. You can call and price match as you order, guess what? Has to be $50 for the coupon to work. Order something else also.

---

What do you do? Either price match it to onvia and then order something else you want (something that at least brings the total to $50). Or, just price match it to their newspaper flyer ($49.98) and add some rubber bands.

$50 - 20 Coupon - 20 rebate = $10 plus tax.

You cannot beat that deal. You cannot price match to $40 and then do a $20 coupon and $20 rebate.

So be happy! $10 plus tax is pretty damn good.

Thanks for the great post!

Yeah...but I still want to know....will the rebate be good when the SKU you ordered doesn't match the required SKU on the rebate form.....

It may be that the rebate is designed only for the B&M stores, where the SKU actually is 383530 which is the SKU that the rebate form requires.... (looked in my newspaper ad, where the SKU (385330) and rebate are listed....)

I don't recall the rebate being listed with the LCS-33 SKU IM1205669 at the STAPLES online site. Perhaps the rebate is designed for B&M purchases only?

This is a great deal....if the rebate will work....
