I saw that CompUSA has them today for $19.99 after rebate. I currently have the 3-piece Altec Lansing ATP3 set.

I'm not big audiophile so I'm not picky over sound quality. I just listen to MP3's and play games so I don't bitch about little things;)

I just got some this afternoon. I haven't fired them up yet, but I have the AVS300W (same sub-woofer and two satellites) and I think they sound great for the price. I picked them over the Creative PCWorks speakers (sorry, don't know which model) when I listened to them side by side. Not too much risk at 19.99.

I have the AVS500, they are fine speakers, they aren't going to blow you away or anything, but they are decent, nonetheless.

i had these speakes for about a month, got them at compusa. and today, the subwoofer just made a hissing noise and died.
compusa only has a 14 day return policy, so i'm stuck w/o speakers. has anyone else got any problems with these speakers?

Almost identical story here. My friend had got these from newegg about 4 months back. Subwoofer died a week back. This was in an office and hence never played loud.
