Altec Lansing ATP3 speakers for $30 at CompUSA B&M?

Looking at upcoming 8/19-8/25 CompUSA circular, I see Altec ATP3 speakers advertised for free with the purchase of an Intel MP3 player. The deal is $79.99 - $50 instant savings - $30 rebate.

What that most likely means is that if you get just the speakers (but not the MP3 player), it should ring up at $30. Even if it doesn't, one can just get both and then return the MP3 player (which I don't think would be unethical).

Anyway, lowest price on pricegrabber is just under $50 from a 1-star dealer.

If the initial sentence is correct, it would be foolish to lock what appears to be a newcomer's quick eye. Better to delete anything that is actually wrong and slap them on the wrist unless you have something better to contribute.

Just wanted to put in a plug for the speakers. I have them myself and use them as the home stereo.
Definately worth the buy.

Or...

CUSA's computer automatically reduces the price of the speakers by $50 when they are both placed on the same receipt. If purchased alone, the price is still $79.99 for the speakers.

Then again, Clammy3 could be right. You guys might want to call and make sure though.

Yeah the ATP's are nice, I would have got an ATP5 set if they were ever priced a little lower ($130+tax/shipping on sale next week at CompUSA I think), but I ended up getting BA4800's for $115 shipped from amazon (I like them even though they're gonna ruin the all-black scheme I had planned for my new box :)). I know this is OT, but anyone have any opinions on how ATP5 compares with BA4800?

I love my ATP5's. Compgeeks has them in stock and on sale again for $79 or $89 (they're refurbs).
