I called Altec Lansing and they said these speakers were only IMAC compatible. The salesperson may have been full of it though.

This high quality audio system is designed to be compatible with the iMac computer. It is ideal for use with other personal computers and many home gaming systems. The wooden subwoofer adds power and low frequency dynamics and the unified volume control adjusts satellites and subwoofer simultaneously.

on a side note, i now have speakers ;)

There is no specific hardware platform for these speakers. Sorry for the confusion.

The PDF file on altecmm.com says those can be used on any PC or gaming system, they have universal connections. Those have more ummf than the ATP ones which I really like, so they should be a bet better. Not a bad deal for $22.00 shipped!!!

This is a SMOKING hot deal on good quality speakers.

A few notes:

1) These speakers will work with any PC. They are called "iMac"
speakers, because they are cosmetically designed to go with the
iMac. That's all.

2) These speakers sound very good. They sound better than any set
of $30 speakers you could get at the local CompCityBestUSAFrysBuy
store.

3) These are a current model, and sell for $67.95 and UP on
pricegrabber.com, not including shipping. The buy.com speakers
include shipping (as they're in the clearance section).

4) The system contains a number of different color bezels for the
speakers, so you can color coordinate as you see fit.

Such a good deal, in fact, I just bought 4 sets
(with a $20 coupon). Great
for including with systems you build for other people, or when
someone asks "do you know where I could get a decent set of cheap
speakers for my computer?")

Kwad, like myself, you've obviously got a bad case of "BMTYN disease" (Buy More Than You Need)

I found that an effective treatment is to subject myself to periodic floggings from my wife. (These coincide with the arrival of the UPS truck.)

Hey, if my wife knew HALF the stuff I was buying, I'd be divorced
by now...Of course, the piles of stuff in the attic, which aren't
getting smaller, are a clue anyway...

But you're right. I have the same disease. I haven't found the cure
yet. Maybe if Anandtech goes out of business :)

Picked up a set for myself, just one set;) From the specs they look like they should sound good. I looked for a review but couldn't find one. I'm generally a headphone user, but I've been waiting for a good deal on a 3 piece system. Thanks matrix175

Matrix,
Thanks for finding this. I decided not to get them last night but this morning when I woke up there were only 7 left, so I bought one as fast as I could! Once again, good find man.

Ok here is what I'm thinking. I have the FPS2000's. If I bought two of these and connected them, would they be better than the FPS's. Thanks. I wonder if that would work...connecting them or something.

I sent one over as a present for my brother-in-law. He listen to music alot and he was impressed on how good it sounds, so, not bad for the price and quality. Make me want get more and hook it up to my SB live, one on each output (two sub and 4 speakers).
