Altec Lansing ACS48 versus Yamaha YSTMS50?

Looking to buy a speaker system, narrowed it down to these two. I use my speakers mostly for music, an occasional DVD?

Which will give the cleaner sound? Best mid-range? bass? Any comments appreciated.

ewwwwww... I never liked Yamaha speakers.
So I'd chose ACS48 if these are the only choices.

The Yamaha's are better. A guy on this forum bought the yamaha's as an upgrade from the ACS48's. I bought my yamaha's over the ACS 48's because an audio expert that used to be on this forum recommended them to me over the 48's. Bestbuy may have both pairs set up and you could play some music on them and choose which ones sound better to you.

The yamms just sound better and have more bass
