Altec Lansing 251 speakers.

I have a problem with Altec Lansing 251 Speakers connected to SB Live 5.1. I am unable to get the centre speaker to work, I have changed the plugs to every concevable combination and tryed the software configeration but still not got the centre speaker to work. Can anyone help?

Pent:4 1.7Hz
512 meg DDR 300 ram.
2 x 80gig Seagate raid pair.
SB Live 5.1 sound card.
Diamondview 17" monitor.
XP Pro.
Office 2000.

the yellow plug from the subwoofer should go into the digital out of the sound card. the two other plugs are color matched so just plug them in accordingly.

use the software that came with the soundcard to diagnose if all channels work or not. it should test each speaker individually. also make sure that you have digital out disable since the speakers have no digital decoder.

and make sure the program you are using to play the video files support 5.1. some oem versions of powerdvd only support two speaker output. you can specify windows media player to use all 5 channels by configuring it in the control panel for "sounds".
