Hey all, theres no audio forum so I thought i'd try here. I currently have a SB Live 5.1 non digital and the Altec Lansing 251 series speaker system.
From the subwoofer, there are three 1/8th in. connectors. Black, Green, and Yellow. From searching around on the web, I found out that the SBLive 5.1 is really not 5.1 at all, at least not the non digital card. Its more like 4.1 with a mixed mode to use the extra center speaker. In other words, the third yellow connector is useless with this sound card without a certain digital decoder attachment.
What I would like to know is, what sound card offers true 5.1 digital sound? And also please tell me if I'm on the right or wrong track with my findings.
