They raised the price to $95. Still a good deal.

http://www.gogocity.com/ Reseller Ratings Users trash GoGoCity as a lousy company, but this is a good price for dolby speakers for connecting to your DVD player or decoder card (Hollywood Plus, for example.) Since a true center channel speaker isn't included, many people will say this can't be called Dolby 5.1, but I think it is close. If you still have sound going to your TV via analog connections, this will mimic the center channel, IMHO.

I'm more worried about the GoGo City trash talk than the quality of the system. I'm not real particular about sound, I just want something better than my trashy pro-logic system.

BTW, I credit tech bargains for this tip.

I ordered an IBM 30 gb 75gxp from gogocity over the summer. It arrived, doa, and i got a replacement in an untimely fashion. They would not cross ship, nor did i get a full doa refund, but the reduced rma refund. Of all the places that i ordered from this was the one i had the most trouble with. The prices and products are great just pray you dont have to return anything

GoGoCity shipped the next day. I just got them today and they are lots of speaker for the price. I have no complaints about this company.

What people might not realize is you don't need to connect these to a computer DVD decoder or soundcard. Most standalone DVD players have dolby digital out. My Toshiba 1600 has something called PCM/Bitstream, which is identical to the SP/DIF which all the manuals say you need. I plugged the ADA880 directly into these and it works great. What is nice is you can leave the analog out of the DVD player going to your TV. This makes the lack of a true center channel speaker less important. I am still experimenting with getting things setup just right. The remote control is very handy and has lights on the front of the right speaker showing how loud the volume is.

Negatives are relatively short, propreitary speakers connections to the two front speakers. This limits the places you put the sub-woofer. I think these cords are about six feet in length. The surround speakers have fairly long cords with standard mini jacks. The surround sound seems a little low, but this might be because I live in an apartment so I don't jack the volume way up. If you can turn the volume up, these will rock. The base is very good. The front speakers are pretty good. Not so sure about the surround, but for $100, I'm not complaining. Just go price a true 5.1 amplifier and five speakers. I bet the cheapest is two or three times the cost of this system.
