Alt-Tab

Hi,
Recently I reinstalled WinXP and with it I'm getting an extra large Alt-Tab dialog that shows the exact window while Alt-Tabbing, instead of the smaller one that just shows the icon of the application. This is great, except several applications are using more than 1 icon(such as Winamp), which makes Alt-Tabbing hard since now I have to Alt-Tab-Tab. How can I have it such that each application only has 1 icon?

Thanks!

I don't get your question, pushing tab more then once shouldn't be a problem, just like if you have a few windows open on firefox, or IE whichever you prefer to use, you'd have to alt-tab-tab and maybe add in a few more tabs to get tot he one you want.

Yes, but let's say I have winamp, word and excel open, and my Winamp is set to Always on Top. When I Alt-Tab, Winamp will always be the first one that is selected. So, if I am working with word and excel and I wanna alt-tab between just the 2 of them, I have to alt-tab-tab to get out of Winamp's 2 icons, and then tab again to go between word and excel. That's 3 tabs. Of course, I could minimize Winamp so that it isn't floating, but this isn't what I wanna do. Besides, other applications such as HomeSite 5.5 also seem to have 2 icons on the alt-tab dialog despite having just a single window. When I'm editing websites and wanna alt-tab between homesite and firefox I have to alt-tab-tab, which is frustrating.

Sounds like you installed the al-tab power toy. If you prefer the normal UI, you need to uninstall it.

Thanks. Is there a way to just disable the alt-tab feature without uninstalling power toys? I see an alt-tab entry in "General" but all it seems to control is the size of the window, and even that doesn't seem to work.

The power toys all have individual installs/deinstalls, so you should be able to move that one without effecting any of the others (if thats indeed the cause, but I don't know of any other apps that change the alt-tab appearance)

'In General', are you refering to tweak-ui?

Yes I'm refering to Tweak-UI. Thanks I managed to remove the Alt-Tab replacement as well as several other seemingly useless additions.
