Alt-Tab from full screen game into another monitor without minimizing the game?

I don't know whether to open this thread here or in the "Displays" subforum, but here it goes:

I have two screens: primary (has the taskbar) which is 60Hz non-freesync and a secondary 75Hz Freesync.
What I want to do is have a game running in full screen (not borderless window so I don't lose Freesync) on the secondary display and a browser (and other windows) in the primary.

Whenever I alt-tab, the game minimizes and I'd like it to stay where it is.
Does anyone know a way to achieve this without losing Freesync? I should mention I'm on Win7.

I would think your only option is to play the game in windowed mode to avoid minimizing, but I think that will lose FreeSync.

I don't think what you're trying to do is possible.
