i built my friend a PC with the MSI K7 Master and its been giving HELL!!!! its definately not a gamers board. we were discussing what we should do, and i suggested selling the board and getting another one.. since he doesnt want to fork over another 140+ dollars for a board i wanted to know if getting the ECS K7S5A be a good move? does it have compatability problems with a geforce based video card? any probs with an acoustic edge? any of that funny stuff? does it have problems with games? i need to know what your gripes are about the ECS K7S5A.

to those who have the MSI K7 Master and a geForce based video card (especially a GF3)... do you play games and have issues with it crashing very often with almost any game?

please help me out, any feedback is appreciated, even neffers that help bump. TIA!!!!!!

I say buy the K7S5A, It's 57$ and has on-board 10/100 LAN. If however after reading the horror stories some are having with this board(mine rocks!) I would go with the Shuttle AK31A for 85$ as it's a good price/performance deal also. Post what ya get and how it works.

this is his setup:

MSI K7 Master
1.4 AMD T-Bird
Visiontek Geforce 3
Philips Acoustic Edge
Enermax 465 psu
2x256mb crucial 2100
some whack nic
toshiba 16x dvd
16x plexwriter
inwin mid case.

he has problems with the mobo, on the MSI website it shows a compatability thinggy and the K7 master isnt too friendly with geforce cards.
