I used to have the gorilla chasing me around (and I can't seemingly run)... from house to house... and I was a bit freaked out by that... but the last few times I can recall my dream... I've had monsters of the 13 Ghosts/House on Haunted Hill/Hellraiser variety... you know... the pale white elastic skin with disfigured faces. And they don't look like ghosts either... not see-thru but physically there. I don't even watch that many horror flicks - but I've seen those. I'm stuck in some kind of high-rise old-medical facility and every corner I turn there's one of these guys around. Luckily I'm armed with some kind of metal hook / impaling device and the ONLY way I've been able to survive it was by slashing these guys with it. I hit the elevator to try and leave and there's one there... I slash at it too and run for my life. Then I run into another one crouched on the floor - it looks like a child... I dare not go near it but it attacks me anyway.

In another segment I recall... I'm a patient with my fiancee who's sick and she's finally seen while they ask me to do attendance for all the other patients waiting. WTF is that ?! I walk just out of the room for a sec and turn around and EVERYONE is missing... I walk through a few doors and there are these monsters again. I'm freaking out.

Dreams like this are often incomplete and make absolutely no sense and this is obviously no different. My biggest concern with it is why does the same thing recur ? I didn't recall it with as much detail as before, but I know the characters are the same. I woke up this morning swearing I'd at least write this out and try to make some sense of it. And I thought the gorilla dream was bad... :|

Any of you have extremely disturbing ones ?

Wow, you should write novels. I can't remember having any nightmares along those lines. If you watched alot of horror movies it might make sense, but you said you don't...weird...

Only recurring dream I have is that I can fellate myself. It's not even arousing, it's just sort of a "wow, and here I thought I wasn't flexible enough.." sort of thing. Maybe once a month or so on average I'll have it.

I've had a reccuring dream since I was very young, probably three or four, that I'm standing on a beach and all of a sudden the sky goes black. I turn around to look at the ocean and all I see is a wall of water that is so high that I can't see the top. I've been having this dream four or five times a year for about the past thirty years.

I'd guess something happened at the beach when you were younger, like a wave hit you from behind, and it's been with you ever since. I don't know if you're afraid of water or not, but I doubt that's the issue. I think it's just your inner-child mind interpreting something you saw really young that might have been scary to you then.

Anyway rh, sounds like you have some sort of inherant distrust/fear/pessimism of hospitals. Doesn't sound like you think of them as very reliable or safe places, which is probably justified in some regards.

So it wasn't dream where you see yourself in, sort of, Sun God robes, on a pyramid, with a thousand naked women screaming and throwing little pickles at you?

-Why am I the only person that has that dream?

my dreams are never really frightening.
usually mundane type nightmares, ie. i would oversleep/fail a test
your nightmare sounds much cooler than mine ever have.

i was having a recurring dream a couple months ago that i was a lumberjack in Alaska, but i never cut down any trees in the dream, but i was convinced i was a lumberjack when i woke up.

I think you might be onto something about a bad expierence when I was young but I think the whole hospital thing is off because I work at our local hospital and trust it somewhat.

Don't worry--You'll outgrow them. I had monster dreams, usually featuring 'Alien' well into my 20s. If possible, you can try to manipulate the dreams. That's what I did on a few occasions. It helped to make them less disturbing and sometimes more interesting.

BTW, do you have sleep disorders? (Apnea, snoring, etc)

I was talking about rh's dream with the hospital part, not yours. And what I meant by it being somewhat justified is that state or county hospital emergency rooms can be notoriously busy. It sounds like rh is worried that if he takes someone he cares about to an emergency room they won't get help in time, or have to spend a long time in pain before they see one. On top of that I think he's worried about the hidden dangers in hospitals, namely the concentration of diseases there.

I think the "little pickles" part is trying to show you, nicely, that "it's" small.

I just dreamed that Puff Daddy was trying to shoot me because he wanted to blow up my dog with dynamite, so I had to beat him with a baseball bat and he turned into a ferret.

I've had a few nightmares that recurr in the short term... mainly because of stress or high emotional states or just some bad benders.

I remember a while ago someone posting a Freudian "dream interpretation" website. It kinda sounds like you've been watching too much "Kingdom Hospital" heh. The worst is sleep paralysis... that scares the CRAP out of me. I tried to practice lucid dreaming a few times and it's still tough for me to try to control dreams/nightmares. Usually the only time I remember them are when they go bad and I have to reign them in.

a lot of times, i'd get these wierd, INTENSE chill sensation stemming from the top of my brain and down my spine. It's not one of those chills you get when you hear a great inspiring story, or when you're insanely scared. I don't know how to quite describe it. It usually happens when i'm almost asleep, like borderline sleep and awake.

it's ..just wierd

Sorry! I thougt you were talking to me about that. It did seem kind of wierd to go from huge waves to a hospital.

Interesting.

I do have "bad" dreams but not severe enough to be categorized as a nightmare.

I can manipulate or force myself to wake up, so no biggy.
