Alright, so my raid0 array died.

In reference to my other post, my RAID0 raptors using my onboard raid controller died today, the errors message i got was that one of the drives was dead. I took them off the RAID and plugged them into the regular SATA ports on my motherboard.

Now, i tested them with DXDIAG.exe, westerndigitals diagnosis utility, and both drives came out with absolutly no errors, and are both detected when using normal SATA.

So, does this mean my RAID controller is dead? I should be fine to install windows on one of these raptors without RAID right?

Or should i try and salvage the array, since i haven't altered the data on the drives since the array crashed.

Ideas?

no one cares 🙁

the basic ques is: should i try and recover the array? or do you think i will be ok in the future just slapping windows on one of the drives.

if the drives are ok, then what else could it be?
RAID controller, mobo error
os?? error
try and recover the array - copy data from it, then, promise yourself not to use RAID 0 again

it could be the array only, reinstall the drives and rebuilb the array, you will have to use the same stripe size,it has worked before.

was you OCing, that will cause it.
