Alright. I have chosen what I shall do. Which is, if you care...

Get these components :
-ATI Radeon 9700 Pro for w/ VGA Silencer for $125
-AMD Athlon XP 2500 Mobile @ 3200+ Speeds $65
-Lian Li PC-6077 Black Case $125-140
-Seagate 120GB HD 7200 RPM $60
-Memorex 50x DVD-Rs $30
-NEC 16X 3500A Black DVD+/-RW $65

and maybe get a Floppy Drive and an anti static wrist strap or a ti-83+ which i need.

Leaves me with around $30-50. I can then upgrade my ram if I wanted to which would cost a little bit more. And I can also in the future sell the 9700 Pro and the Geforce 3 TI 500 That I have and get a 9800 Pro or possibly an AGP 6600 Gt or something.

There IS a possibility I'll sell the GF3TI500 + Antec Case + Anything else and get a 9800 Pro.

Thanks for all the input everyone.

Make a combination upgrade that I could do that would cost up to $500.

--I ALSO NEED AN AWESOME LOOKING BLACK CASE LIKE A LIAN LI PC-6077 OR ANTEC SONATA OR SOMETHING--

Alright. I'm not going to play Doom 3 ALOT. I'll just finish single player and thats all. I hear people playing it on Geforce 4 TIs and such. I just can't spend it on a X800 or 6800.

I don't want top notch performance like the 6800 series or the X800 series. I rather get a 5950 Ultra or 9800 Pro that I know will handle games well. I have been on INTEL EXTREME Graphics all my life and I'm not used to anything BUT it.

I tend not to venture near a 6800 GT. I've never used anything above Intel Extreme and I think any upgrade like a 9800 Pro would be HUGE. 6800 GT is taking it too far man. AND also if I get the 6800 GT I'll be bottlenecked because I wont have any money to spend on anything else. (AMD - 65$ , HD - $60, Also need Ram + DVD-Rs)

Well, if you have $500 to spend, AAAAAAAAAAAAND your going to play D3 and the likes, you would be MUCH better off with say a 6800GT/X800PRO. Do your self a favor, and buy your self a better video card. 🙂

Oh and BTW, you cant go too far in terms of video cards when trying to play D3.

lol u should always know exactly what you want before u start ordering things

i'd get a faster cpu, like the AMD Athlon XP 3000+ 2.167GHz (Socket-A) Barton Core FSB400 ($100)

and get a better video card, the Sapphire ATI RADEON 9600XT 128MB ($135) is good

also the Lian Li PC-6077 is a very nice case, and is what i plan on buying too (the black version PC-6077B)

Another stick of ram, exactly what u already have coupled with a 6800nu would be optimal for you. Trust me on the video card. Its worth the money (~$250). This total will bring u around $325 which i reccomend saving the rest of the money for future upgrades.

I did. But I didn't KNOW I would be getting $500 THIS LATE.
I'm not getting anything from the 9600 XT series and I know that I'm getting a mobile that will OC to 3200+ Speeds.
So here it is guys....

1. AMD Athlon XP 2500+ Mobile to 3200+ Speeds $65
2. Lian Li PC-6077 Case $140
3. Seagate 120GB 7200 RPM HD $60
4. Memorex 50x DVD-R Discs $30
5. NEC 3500A 16X DVD RW $65

Remaining : $155 Dollars.
Catch : I will get another $200 dollars next month.
Should I Sell one of my components (Say like the Geforce 3 TI 500) and get a 9800 Pro? Or get a 9700 Pro?
Or Get another stick of 512MB PC3200 XMS Corsair to match my other stick for $110?

Alright guys. I have to explain it this way....

I do not like how the Antec Cases look. I hate the FRONT end thing. It's absolutely annoying. That is the only reason I gotten the ONLY Antec without it. But it's a Mini Tower and It's less better looking than what I can get now. I like the Lian Li Design. I'm also aware it comes with no PSU But I could probably use the Antec one I have now. I just like the front audio ports and how it's designed. It just looks so damn good to me at least. I have to stay by that. In my mind I can't imagine myself buying a case named POWMAX or RAIDMAX or something. Lian Li is like Luxury. That is why I have chosen the PC-6077 to be my case.

As for everyone who will suggest me a X800/6800 I have to doubt that I will purchase one. Reason being
1) It's 300$ and by next year I will have doubted the purchase. I must inform you again that I have used Intel Extreme graphics all my life and I would be surprised even If I used a 9500 Pro or something. I know that once the new Nvidia / Ati cards come out, they'll drop down the prices. I know that every year the prices drop. But for now I believe the best bargain for performance is probably an ATI 9700 Pro for $125 around these forums or an MSI 9800 Pro for $185 via Newegg. But then when I think about it. 6600 = $200 and probably Rocks the 9800 Pro. The 9800 Pro is probably close to being dropped down to around $140-150 range (retail-y). The 9800 Pro was around the same price for the second half of 2004. And I'm so sure it will probably drop down soon. So If I get it I will probably doubt it.

So I think the best purchase for now would be an ATI Radeon 9700 Pro for $125. 60 Dollars may not seem alot but it is a pretty huge difference to me at least. I do not care about the highest fps on games btw. I'm pretty sure a 9700 Pro can handle anything out now. I'll take a look at different charts including Toms Hardware, Anandtech, Digit-Life, etc and I'll choose one. Thanks for the input but for now my CANDIDATES will be....

9800 pro
9700 pro
9500 pro
5950 ultra
5700 ultra

I would recommend 9800Pro, this card could last AT LEAST the NEXT 3 YEARS on 3d gaming but it just won't run on highest setting and all..what is the point to run on highest anyways?? It doesn't really damn matter..I wouldn't spend 400 on a video card seriously
