Alright. I know the ATOT community is great for stuff like this, and I want your help in looking at both for and against statements for this resolved.

AMERICANS SHOULD BE ALLOWED TO SHARE COPYRIGHTED MEDIA OVER THE INTERNET.

Could you guys help me? I know this might be considered one sided, but I would like some help in thinking of some "for" arguments. All help is really appreciated.

There is absolutely no "FOR" in this argument.

However, due to it happening says a lot about the pricing of copyrighted materials as well as the licensing.

Those are the roots of the problem.

What do you mean? I guess I'm looking for just an argument saying that Americans should be allowed to, and pricing I guess is an issue that needs to be taken into effect.

Any argument "for" would have to disregard the entire concept of copyright law. That's going to be difficult to defend.

Two words:

doh!

ok other than software where i wanted to be credited :)

Uh hate to tell both of you but open source authors still retail copyright over their software :p

Lots of people also think that open source and free software = free of charge but that is not true. They CAN be free of charge (Apache) but they don't have to be (Redhat Enterprise?).
