i don't think so. carlson ruled that the hearing can't be delayed, which is a good thing. at least for att@home users, like me.

and the breaking of the contract, according to the article, is so that companies pay more, not normal users.

Well as you know, if the companies pay more, the customers will end up paying more. But frankly, cost is secondary to me. To many people, only one high-speed provider is available to them. @Home is the only thing I have...I'm too far from the Bell building to get DSL. Comcast WILL eventually provide us high-speed service if @Home goes dark; the question is how long do we have to wait until Comcast is ready?

Read This !!!

<< Some of Excite@Home's bondholders have requested that the cable ISP shut down its service unless its partners are willing to pony up enough money to keep it afloat or pay off the company's debt. Sources say creditors are playing a "game of chicken" to get AT&T to raise its $307 million bid for Excite@Home's assets. >>

If the partners say NO.. Then we are screwed.... I bet @home shuts it off as quick as they can to get leverage.....

You have broadband but no home phone?

I've said it before, & I'll say it again...

If you think you can rely on broadband to replace your landline, you're nuts.

This is just American @Home right? My parents are on @Home back in Calgary and they are in the Caribbean right now. Will they no longer have access when they come back?

I'm on @home right now and i can say that if it goes down for an extended period of time I will NOT get dialup. Never again. If I have to use internet and none at home i'll just use it at work. I'm never going to desecrate myself with 56k ever again.

When did they do this? I didn't have any downtime, but it was slow for a few days a week or two ago... But it's now back to normal, maybe even a little faster than it used to be...

My ISP is Videotron, but they're owned by Rogers now I think.
