Which of these boards feels faster or more responsive?

phpbb board running off my hosting

or

Invisionfree board running of invisionfree server

Both have advantages and disadvantages. I like the PHPBB board because there are no ads, but it's run off my hosting.

Invisionfree has a better admin panel, but phpbb is managable.

Anyway...does one feel more responsive, or are they about the same?

I'd say about the same, invisionfree seems a tad faster even.

Both are sufficiently fast, and I doubt you're gonna deal with enough users for it to be a problem. Stick w/ PHPBB since you will control it at the DB level.

So, at what point do you think the phpbb server would start to bog down?
