I ordered a hands free kit and a car charger for my new Kyocera cell phone (can't beat $10 total on ebay shipped...damn hands free was $16.95 and charger was $29.95 at the AllTell store:|)

Anyway, included with the car charger and hands free kit was a free AB Antenna Booster. It's a razor thing gold looking thing that you are supposed to put it nearby the battery or near the antenna.

My question is, do these things really work in your experience?
 
There was a thread on this quite a while back and TechTV did a report on it (I think it was on Fresh Gear), and both came to the same conclusion.

It does nothing.

So you were ripped off.
 
There have been several threads on these little things in the past couple of months. I would go find em but I'm lazy. They're snake oil. Sending the money to me will yield as much improvement in reception as those gold stickers.
 
Suprised you haven't seen this before but to answer your question NO.Its just a gimmick,the only way to increase signal strength is to make sure the antenna is fully extended.

If you read my post, you'd see that I didn't pay for it. It was just included in the box.

It makes a big difference. It will usually increase your signal strength by about 100 times. Motorolla, Nokia, Erickson and all the other companies only spend a few million on R&amp;D so they do not really have the resources to find a simple solution such as this.
 
i bought one of these POS on ebay for $5...didn't do sh!t to my phone...no increase whatsoever...$5...not a huge loss
 
I've seen a lot of people say it's worthless. But I've never seen an actual test or review done on it.

I'm curious about that.
