.... and what is the difference between the two different kinds of fans you can get on em? I found a site here in Canada that sells all sorts of great stuff for hardware/overclock junkies.. anyways.. I can get one with the YS tech fan or the Delta.... which is quieter, which has a higher CFM rating?... also, what is the difference between the 6035 and the Pep66? Is the Pep66 better, and will it fit on my A7V? Thanks..Mikewarrior? you around? :)

the PEP66 is the bigger/slightly better performing heatsink. It will work on a A7V, but I'm not sure if you'll need to mod it or not(modding as in modding the airflow guide nad fan position)

Ahe PAL6035 will definately fit, and is the standard alpha-pin arrangement(the PEP has fins).

The Y.S. Tech is quieter(but still fairly loud, IMO), while hte Delta is a monster when it comes to airflow.

Thanks Mike!

pep66 are made with the fans mounted on teh side rather than the top. which is why i went for a 6035 and then was able to buy and adapter and mount a 80mm fan. but anyway there is a mod you can do to get the pep66 to mount vertically, though mike will have to supply the link

I would have thought that having the heatsink mounted horizontally would benefit the airflow situation.. I have a rear exhaust fan and two intakes in the side blowing right onto the cpu/mobo/graphics... if the HSF was sideways.. I could mount the fan to blow away from the heatsink and out the rear while the fins (are they fins) would recieve fresh (cool) air from outside... ???? But they aren't fins are they? or are they?
Does the Pep66's fan face sideways-rear or some other direction??? It would make sense I guess for it to face to the rear of the case yeah? Hmmm.. does the fan on it blow at the cpu or away from it? (even though this is easily changed)
I've seen how-to's about the 80mm adapter.. seems like a good idea too.. but I wouldn't mind having the fan blow towards the rear... Mike? anybody?

I modified my PEP66 to blow from the top rather than the side, but I only did a quickie mod based on what seemed obvious that being to rotate the airflow guide 90 degrees and screw it in between the fins rather than in the predefined holes. So if there is a tip/guide on that I would be very grateful if someone had the link, esp if it shows a better way to do it.

It's an eazy mod and it works great. I did mine when I got an 815e mobo. Kept the pep66 got rid of the 815e mobo.
