There is some controversy to this subject.
One problem is the temp sensor itself, most being mounted
underneath the CPU, and how accurate the reading is.
Also how the air flow created by the fan, sucking or blowing,
can affect the temp sensor....
I have a PEP on my Tbird on a EPOX 8KTA+. I also have a
CompuNurse temp sensor, which I am able to insert the probe
between the CPU and the PEP and have it touching the core on
the side.
The temp readings I get are higher then the ones from the MB sensor
I then tried the fan both ways, several times, and consistantly
got lower temps with the fan blowing.
I know the PEP was designed to suck air, but that is from
the side. I had to modify mine to mount the fan on the top.
It wouldn't fit my motherboard mounted on the side.
