Alpha PEP66 & Blowhole

Hey, I have a blowhole sucking in air directly over the CPU area. My question is, how should a Alpha PEP66 mounted on a Slotket be configured? I think it sucks air out by default. So should the shroud be removed, so air gets sucked into the blowhole, through the Alpha's fins, and out the fan? Or should I have the Alpha suck in and remove the shroud? I'm concerned that this will create a dead spot over the CPU area. I haven't received the cooler yet, I ordered it from coolerguys.com as a part of their garage sale (it's used). It's just me obsessing. Thanks!

You can always turn the Alpha fan over to blow through the heatsink, and keep the airflow pattern from the blowhole moving in the same direction.

Or set the blow hole to blow air out....That way the heat gets sucked right off of the Alpha and blown out of the case. That is how I have mine set up. :)

Frenchie, that's how I was thinking of doing it! I have 2 blowholes in the lower front side. I guess 3 sucking in isn't right. What kind of temps are you getting?

The temps havent been only a little above room temp. (I have a P!!!850@1,130 (1.75v), article silver, PEP and two side blowholes blowing out.) Touching the Alpha while the cpu is under load...just barely warm. :)

LOL! I used to have that same CPU. Then I deceded to upgrade and gave the C2 to my g/f. The P3-850 gave better scores than the C2-952, as all the reports said that they would.
