Ive got a pIII 700e on an ASUS s-370-133 card on a ASUS P3V4X board. I was thinking about getting the Alpha PEP66 kit for it and was wondering if it covers a memory slot or not and if it does.....is there any problems using the second slot for my one stick of mushkin HPerf pc-133 rev.2?

I wanna order this kit this weekend, so anyone with this kit on a P3V4X......lemme know what you think of it. Ive got a Golden orb on it right now.......and my full load temps seem alittle high when running seti@home and prime 95 (42-48*c).......I'd like to cool it down a little.

oh BTW: Im running my 700e@933 at 1.70v and its very stable, but i wanna go for more! (doesnt everyone?...lol)

you're correct. it only takes up the first ram slot. i mean if you're a ram hog, then thats bad for you, but if you aren't, then its good in a way.

Diceman,

This is one of the setups that I run. It does cover the 1st dram slot. I have a 128 MB stick of Muskin in the second slot without any problems. I am running a 650e cB0 @ 866 and 1.65v and the temps range from 32C-40C depending on the load, of course.

thats why i initially switched to the golden orb - to gain back a ram slot and the ability to sleep with my computer on in the same room.

plus, i get the same overclock with this hsf (compared to my MASSIVE and LOUD global win..)

Thx guys,

Im still using my gorb for now. Im running 945@1.75v and my full load temps are mid-high 40C's.

I just took apart my computer and cleaned all the fans/filters and i also re applied teh gorb goop to the cpu (it wasnt quite a good covering teh first time).....and that helps temps a bit.

So im ok for now till i get something else. Ive been shopping for days waiting for something to jump out at me......but nothing does.. ;)

I guess alphas my ony real option above the Gorb, since the Gorb is decent itself.....

Question: Will i see a temp difference just by removing teh stock goop from the gorb and appying some Arctic Silver to it?.......Is it worth it to keep the Gorb and use A.S?
