This heatsink has been around just about as long as the Athlon64 itself so the review is a bit old. Still the performance is still very good considering its lack of heatpipes and limitation of an 80mm fan. In terms of quality Alpha still makes the best heatsinks you can buy, their cold forging and precision manufacturing can't be beat. I'm looking forward to see what they have for AM2.

I wonder why they haven't really kept up or made newer improvements to their heatsinks. Like you mentioned, they are normally the top dog when it comes to cooling.

Alpha dose have a newer larger sink that uses a 92mm fan for the hot running LGA 775 Pentium 4s. Only problem is it's for S775 only :(.

Found this page showing a heatpipe based Alpha heatsink. Something they would need to compete with the CNPS-9500s and SI-120s out there.

bit old?! i just read it a few days ago. The review is also dated 2-9-2006. Thats a threes days ago

The review isn't old the heatsink is.
