I haven't been paying attention to new hardware recently. Last I heard, the Alpha heatsinks were the best heatsinks out there for PIII 370s. Are they still the best? Which one would go with the the PIII 370? Also, which fan should I use? I don't really care about noise, mainly performance, but most of all, quality? Also, what thermal compound should I use, Arctic Silver? Do any of you know a good place to buy heatsink/fan combos? I leave my computer on a lot, so I need a good cooler. I want high quality and good performance. Money isn't really an issue, but I don't want anything rediculous. Also, is there any new technology to come out in the cooling field soon(next 9-18 months)Thanks :p

For Socket-370 P3 flipchips, it's a matter of whether you're using a socket-to-slot adapter for a Slot-1 motherboard, or a socket motherboard. For a slotket, the Alpha PE66 is the top dog. Alpha's PAL-35 seems to reign supreme for socket motherboards.

Either way, Arctic Silver is the best thermal compound according to the reviews. (It did very nice things with my P3-700 at 933 on a slotket with an Alpha PEP66.) Nevin from the Cooling Store (they sell the stuff) frequents this board and can probably answer any questions you can't find an answer to on the website (www.arcticsilver.com). (I need to ask him one day why he misspells "artic." [lol])

As for buying them, try places like 2CoolTek, Millisec, 3DFXcool, and so on (www._name_.com for each).
