Ironically I burned my amd cpu and mobo, one day before i received my thermaltake silent viking 2 cooler.

I have now ordered a p4 northwood 2 2.667 mhz system, and an alpha 8942 heat sink.
I'm thinking of using the fan from the silent viking 2 cooler (thermaltake TT8025A), with the alpha heat sink.
The question is wether I should use the "ductingmod" (the bent plastic tube link) as well.
Will it result it more effective cooling and/or less noise?

Does anyone have any experience with this?

thx in advance!

I would say no, as the fan on the alpha should be pointing away from the hs/fan. I haven't seen any reviews on this mod, and they show no hard evidence that it works as well as they say it does.
