Can a Alpha 8045 handle the heat off a 85watt Pelt or would I need something smaller like a 55watt? I just want to avoid putting my Water block back on. LAZYYYYY.

I'd be extremely careful. You might need one of those 80cfm Delta's or something crazy like that. If you can put up w/the noise it MIGHT work, but that's a lot of heat that the alpha has to get rid of.

85W + CPU wattage = total heat that needs to be dissipated.

I wouldn't be surprised if it could. I am very impressed with my 8045. I can run my system with passive cooling on the CPU, but I do have good airflow through the case. Anyway, I wouldn't risk it.. I think you should go WC if you want to use a pelt.

I'm not sure, but doesn't the pelt have to have at least the same power rating as the CPU. If your CPU dissipates 90W of heat, and you have an 85W pelt, I think it would actually heat up the CPU....
