Alpha 8045 + ASUS A7V266-E = not meant to be?

I noticed on one site, I beleive it was 2coolTek.com, that they showed Alpha's PAL8045 as incompadable with ASUS A7V266 board. Unless ASUS changes the real-estate of the A7V266-E it will probably be same issue, no? Anyone know anything about this? I'm probably going to go the ASUS path- as long as the benchmarks arent as bad as A7V266, but I'd like to know if i can attach a good 'ol PAL8045. If not, whats the next best HS to go for?

Swiftech has a new revision of the MC462, called the MCX462 or something like that, and is supposed to be compatible with just about any motherboard that has the 4 mounting holes around the socket coming out sometime in November. The only big drawback is the price; Swiftech=expensive.
