I have a lot of friends who spell a lot as "alot" instead of "a lot". That gets me upset a lot.

jonMEGA, you spelled a lot wrong. bigsmooth, a lot of them are still my friends. But, I hate bad spellers.

Yea, I almost killed a guy because when he said Roger he put the emphasis on the &quot;r&quot;. Foreigners need to learn English better.

Technically both &quot;alot&quot; and &quot;a lot&quot; are sub-standard English that you should avoid.

alot of the time i spell alot as alot beacuse i forget to press space alot, and sometimes i just wanna type it as alot :)

I always spell a lot as a lot because I'm still afraid of my high school english teacher, Mrs. Mitchell, from 22 years ago. She would still put me in detention if she caught me spelling it wrong.
