I picked up the new Alone in the Dark the other day.
Now I'm addicted to it.
Very stylish -- graphics are very good.
Controls are a little awkward, but I found that most survival-horror (ie. RE) seem like this.
I'm playing with a wireless 360 controller on the PC tho, so it makes it somewhat better.
I just don't understand why the reviews weren't better.
This game is cool- check it out if you get a chance.

I think the control thing is to add even more tension to the situation, if you were a guy moving like Prince of Persia, fighting like Kratos and shooting like Duke Nukem, you wouldn't be afraid of much :)

I was interested in this game but the reviews are beyond awful, maybe I'll have to re-read them to find out what's wrong and decide if that's going to bother me.

All I have to say is do not go by the reviews.
This game has some seriously original gameplay.
You will surely get many hours of tense gaming out of this fairly inexpensive game.
It has a solid mixture of linear and non-linear gameplay.
I have gotten used to the controls, and now believe the inventory interface is one of the slickest ever implemented in a game yet.
When you go to your inventory screen it is a view of your open jacket and belt as you look down into it / at it.
You must heal yourself with medical spray and bandages.
I can't disagree more with the reviews.
I give this game a 9 out of 10
