ALMS Races - Laguna Seca - A Few pics

Went to the races yesterday - another fabulous day of Monterey weather and for those that have never been - Laguna Seca is an awesome place to spend the day roaming the course.

Reminder to self: The high revving V8's in the BMW's and Ferrari's are deafening - and the Jaguar & Corvettes with their larger displacements are just booming loud! Bring hearing protection!

I was a Laguna at a Porsche Club DE last fri, sat, sunday. Love that I can track my car one weekend and there can be a ALMS event the next!

The Petit is at the start of next month. I've been to many growing up the sad part is that I won't be able to get to go to this one 🙁

Stupid conferences :|

 I used to go to Long Beach every year for the Long Beach Grand Prix. They used to run ALMS there after the CART race. Yeah, it is deafening.

Never been to Laguna, would like to see the MotoGP race there though.

Was there myself too, great weather and good day of racing. Always love the sound of the Vette's, and the Jag too. And the new URC cars were incredible. I was standing behind them when they backed out of the pit to run some laps. Need to check the video I got. I took lots of pics as well, but haven't looked at them. I know I got some good glowing red brake pics.

I was also there on Saturday. That hybrid 911 is wicked fast, watching it pull away from LMP1s on the start/finish straight was impressive. Those Ferraris are actually kind of painful to listen to once they get near the limiter, too high pitched.

I also now hurt from hiking up to the corkscrew 4 times during the race.

A friend of mine was there.. but in a green Z.

It's a long shot, but is he in the military? I only ask because I'm stationed in Monterey and there's a lime-green Z on-post...

I was volunteering there myself all day Saturday, I love getting out to the Laguna Seca events. It's awesome how you can always pick out the C6.R's out over any other car. I didn't get to see too much of the races though, someone else was drawing my attention 😀

GM also had an event where you could go test drive one of their regular cars and then take out a Camaro or Corvette. I got a convertible 'Vette and they let me take it up to 90

I went to the 1989 USGP. Fantastic experience, other then the end of the race. I took a Keith Code course there a few days after the race. My times were slightly slower. It was cool being on the same track the 500GP guys had just been on. Schwantz, Mamola, etc...I liked that era better than today's.
