EPoX 4G4A+. 845G is faster than all those with DDR333. However, I its not in stock at Newegg (but again, neither is P4S533, or 4BDA2+).

Well I have built some Asus P4S533's and not a problem, On the first one I did change out the 350 watt power supply for a 430 watt true, Never used the others but Epox makes a fine board, I used PC2700 memory and ran it at 4:5, run all of them at 2.13 with stock heatsinks and never went over 40C so I don't see a need for anything other than the stock HS,

Asus reliability makes it my choice.

Either the Gigabyte or the epox , they both use the i845 Intel chipset and it rocks as far as stability and overclocking.;)

Stay away from the 4G4A+. People who have it are not happy with it. I prefer the Intel chipset to the SiS. Better IDE performance, they get to higher FSB speeds, great performance, PCI/AGP lock feature is awesome. The Gigabyte looks good, but I've seen complaints about cold boot issues when overclocked. It also is lacking a PCI/AGP lock feature. I couldn't be more happy with the 4BDA2+. Does everthing well. No issues. None. Zip. I have a similar setup as what you are buying. I run 1.6A, 512 Samsung PC2700, 150 FSB, 2.4 GHz, 3:4 ratio, DDR400. Works perfectly. I use the stock HS/Fan with ASII. BTW, the Plus660 is a NICE case! I built another setup like mine for a friend with the black Plus660. Very nice.

Shoot.... The minute I think I'm ready to order, Newegg is suddenly out of stock in many of the items I want...

Ugh.

Are those retail boards at MWave? I was really surprised how good their 4BDA2+ price was considering they're almost always more expensive than Newegg on stuff.

Hmmm. Really? Guess I need to do more research. my 2nd choice would definately be 4BDA2+ cause I agree with oldfart. SiS isn't bad, but, still I'd rather have an Intel chipset and DDR400 (or even DDR333) will rock SiS 645DX

Take a look @ Hardforums. Does not look like a great board. Goes to show you. Dont just stick with one brand. Good models come and go from one mfgr to the next. Epox 4BDA 2+ rocks. 4G4A+ does not. And yes, 845 @ DDR400 is very nice. :)

please the i845 and i845g do not ROCK the SiS 645 DX. The price diff between the two is not worth it as the SiS delivers almost identical performance.

No the i845 really is more stable then the sis chipset and more overclockable. You said please so I'll say thank you.:D Just my opinion.

How come the SiS chipset basd boards are less stable?
I would suggest you to see te reviews from all over the web, non of them has the stability problem with SiS chipset...
You are probably confusing SiS with VIA couple of years ago.....
I would say go SiS.....instead of Intel....

how can you say they are more stable, you probably don't even own one. That's just your stupid Intel biased opinion. The only problems people had with the P4S533 was that idiots plugged in all three power cables into the Motherboard, when the manual Clearly states to plug in only TWO of them at a time. Other than that, the sis 645dx chipset is rock motha fuggin solid.

That assumes you have tested both motherboards.

I must say, my P4S533 is a most capable board. Lots of features and fast. I am extremely happy with it. :D Just my opinion.

I strongly recommend that you do NOT get the Gigabyte 8IRXP I current;y have this board and if you plan on overclocking and like being able to reboot your PC properly do not get this one. I am in the process of returning the board to my credit card company (Amex as the 30 Newegg return period is up) and getting a new board. Basically if you change the default voltage on the board it will not reboot properly from windows. Check newsgroups before you buy to avoid issues like this, i wish I had.

Did I mention the 4BDA2+?? :p :p. No problems. Zip. None. Nada. It overclocks, is stable, has the 3:4, AGP, PCI lock, up to 1.85 Vcore. Just get it.

Anny , Anny , Anny , I have built 3 mobo's using the 645/961 chipset , 2 mobos from Asus and one from Biostar and only plugged in the appropriate power cables , all three had stabiliy problems , Anny aren't you bitter , someone states an opposing opinion and you come out with comments like that , are you really that unhappy.;)

I don't understand why nobody seems to respect the 4BDA2+.. I'm going to be getting either a 4BDA2+ or an 8IEXP depending how the overclocking reviews of the 8IEXP go.

I decided to go with the Epox 4BDA2+. It is on its way by UPS 3-day select. I may be asking oldfart for his bios settings since his system is so similar... ;)
