Ok... Almost ready to place my order at Newegg for the components to build my new P4 1.6a overclocked system...

My last decision is: Which motherboard? I am down to:

Asus P4S533
Gigabyte GA-8IRXP
Epox EP-4BDA2+

What do you think?

Here are my components:
  • case + PS: Antec PLUS660 $106 (plus an extra fan or two)
  • processor: P4 1.6a $129
  • memory: Samsung 512 MB PC2700 $157
  • hard drive: 60 GB Maxtor ATA-133 7200 RPM $94
  • video card: GF4 440A
  • CPU fan: Arkua 8568 $26
  • mouse: MS Optical Intellimouse $27
  • keyboard: MS Internet Keyboard $27
  • scsi card: Tekram PCI $16
  • thermal paste: Arctic silver $12
  • speakers: Logitech Z540 $64
  • sound card: SB Live $29 (or possibly the Santa Cruz...)
  • OS: Win XP Pro Upgrade Academic $89

I voted other for the Gigabyte 8SRX. It's the most complete overclocking solution for the P4. You can tweak almost everything that you ever wanted. Check out the reviews and the Gigabyte website for information on that motherboard. If you don't wish to go that way I'd suggest an Epox. They got good reviews on that board and it's a pretty good performer.

Same here. It is not cool to post the same thread on more than one forum - against the rules!
