my OLD computer has been rebooting often lately, and I was contemplating buying a replacement dell for 400$
i finally found the culprit - CPU was running at 69*C... (skirting around bios thermal protection at 70*)
i thought perhaps the PS/mobo wasnt providing the CPU fan enough voltage.. so i busted out the voltmeter to check the pin connectors.. the pins are literally MM-spaced apart. i accidentally touched the 2 ends and *poof*, it went from 12v to 2v (fan wouldnt even spin now)
good thing i found a 2ndary connector meant for GPU fan. plugged it in. CPU runs at high 50s* but it runs!
