Really? I think I'm becoming an actor. THEY'LL PAY ME to take lessons from Frampton. Holy hell, I just got the chills.

From IMDB:
Peter Frampton taught Billy Crudup how to play the guitar in preparation for the concert scenes.

To look like a real rock band, the four actors in Stillwater rehearsed for four hours a night, five nights a week, for six weeks.

Stillwater's songs were written by Cameron Crowe and his wife Nancy Wilson of the rock band Heart.

Watched the DVD extras... Pretty cool. I'm amazed someone can learn to play like that in such a short amount of time, but I guess when Frampton is doing the teaching...

Call me crazy, I don't care. I've seen this movie once before, but it kinda got to me last night. I mean, It's a freaking powerful movie. Today I listened to the entire "Frampton Comes Alive" CD twice over straight. And Elton John's Tiny Dancer gives me goose bumps now.

Mike McCready from Pearl Jam did lead guitar for "Fever Dog" plus the part where the kid gets into a circle with the band before they go onstage was actually inspired by Pearl Jam inviting Crowe into their group circle before they went onstage one time...back when crowe was writing an article about them I think

Now I'm confused. I thought Frampton taught the actor how to do that.

While in most cases, actors are out of touch with reality and overall a complete waste of skin, I do admire how hard some of them work in order to get into character.

I think Frampton taught him how to do it for the concert scenes so he wouldn't look like a chump, but someone else played it on the actual recording.
