Your computer won't run without a graphics card, not an option. A 6800gt would suit your needs for a long time, I'm still running a 6600gt and see no need to upgrade, I get great frame rates at medium quality settings in HL2, Doom3 and all the newer games. Or if your set on the 7800, just get a cheapo X300 or 6200 for less than $50 to hold you until you can afford to upgrade.

I also suggest dropping ram to 1gb, the only common apps that currently use more than 1gb are BF2 and photoshop, but both will run OK with 1gb, and its easy to upgrade latter.

Would it be cheaper though to get 2 1gig sticks together as a pack???

I was just planning on not getting the graphics card until I saved up some money..... but I can't even run my computer????

as far as the ram....any comments on what I posted above?
