Im going to use if for Gaming, and will be overclocking it, aiming for around 3.4 to 3.6.

So ive got about £65 left for a motherboard. im thinking about getting the MSI P35 Neo2-FR which is within the budget (£63). Is is any good? or could you recommend a better one around £65?.

OR, would it be better if i changed some of the components to a cheaper version, like changing the 1066Mhz ram costing £41 to 800Mhz costing £30 and possibly changing the power supply and getting an OCZ SlientExtreme which is £15 cheaper. I would the have a budget of £90

Im stuck on what to do, i was wondering if someone could help me ? Thanks in advance

I'd probably keep the power supply. I would definitely downgrade the RAM though. DDR2-800 is fine for overclocking a Q6600.

What about the video card? That's the most important part of a gaming PC.

What is the E8400 price there? Cores 3-4 are useless for gaming. With the E8400 an OC to 3.6 just requires changing the FSB to 400, you can do that on a cheap Gigabyte P43 motherboard. (I have one and it's nice, but I run at stock speed.)

For 400 fsb you just need DDR 800 for 1:1.

The WD 640GB HD has denser platters than the 500, so it's a little faster.

Forgot to mention, ill be using a HD4850 (which I've already got)

The E8400 and Q6600 are the same price (£110 and £105 respectively)

I went for the quad as i probably wont be upgrading again for about two and a half years.

Ill probably just go for the 800 Ram.

Ive had a look at the Asus P5k- E / Wifi is that better than the MSI P35 Neo2-FR ?

If you are not after crossfire, I can confirm I have had no problems with the Dark Raider Abit IP35......
