$50 over MSRP, about the same for the XL when it came out. Hopefully the price will drop as fast as the XL's did. So it looks like they will hit their launch date of Nov. 5th. Hopefully they will be plentiful, and well priced. Time will tell.

I posted this earlier, but the post got deleted by accident. A mod tried to delete a post, but deleted the thread on accident. If you are wondering where it went, and if you are seeing double... :)

I can't IMAGINE whose post that was and why it was being deleted. ;)

Nice to see that the cards will at least be available. Tad pricey though. As you mentioned, I'd expect prices to drop rapidly as long as there are a sufficient number of cards available.

Agreed.

2 days is worth the wait. If the rumoprs of the 7800 "Ultra" are true, then Nvidia will have stole another launch from ATI. If ATI gets these cards out on the 5th in numbers however, that will be a victory for ATI in itself.

Well, let's see if they delete this one Creig, if I explain my position rather than post a link.

It's great this card has made it to market.

I have two qualms with it and one comment:
1. A one year warranty on a $600 card that runs as hot as this one seems risky.
2. Based on knowledge I have of competing products that will be on the market very shortly, those who don't need to upgrade today might do well to hold off purchasing this card.
3. Those who only want a high end ATI card, regardless of it's bang/buck and position in the market, should probably buy this card.

THAT explains why I was getting errors when trying to reply to this post & where it went. Thanks. :)

What I was going to say was to keep calling until they confirm that they had it in.

I'm gonna wait for someone to buy this and see how it overclocks. My feeling is we havent seen all the x1800xt can do, given that the drivers still need improvement, and if it can be OCd well, especially if it's true about adjustable voltage. But the memory controller tweak was a nice example of the benefits of this new architecture.

I actually had one of my old backup GF256s die on me recently. But since I had lapped the GPU a couple years ago I can't say for sure it was actually the card's fault. But other than that, I haven't had any die on me either. I still have some old PCI/ISA cards laying around in boxes that I'm sure still work just fine.

1. Hot? http://hardwarezone.com/img/data/articles/2005/1752/Temp.gif
2. It depends on "very shortly". Like in this thread people are expecting 512MB GTX on the 7th but is it really the case?

They do have them in stock. They got 15 in today, sold 12 so far. Three left as of now. He told me that was the first of two shipments, whatever that means.

I hope people realize that you can only return video cards bought from all-star for the same video card. You cannot return a card in exchange for another in case you dont like it. Even if something goes wrong with it....they replace it with the same card. No credits. This was the problem when i bought my video card from them a while back.

Bought a $600 GTX from them when it came out and it was DOA....so i requested a different vendor EVGA instead since i heard good things about them and they refused. Had to get the same card back no matter what.

Warranty Length: 1 year
Warranty Provider: ATI
Service Contact:
First 30-day from invoice date: Allstarshop On-line RMA Request
This item is returnable for replacement only. It can only be exchanged with the same item.
After 30-day from invoice date: ATI 905-882-2626
Technical Support: ATI 905-882-2626

I hope November 7th will be worth the wait. ;)
