Allofmp3.com down?

Weird, I was able to access the site at lunch time and it's been down since. Anyone else able to get to it?

edit: the website doesn't seem to be working now... hmm...

But anyway, allofmp3 switched over to allTunes software awhile ago. It's basically the same thing as allofmp3 explorer and it will transfer over your credits anyway. Not sure why they did this, but it was around they time allofmp3 was in trouble with Russian police.

There was a thead in P&N about it... (it was on the top page earlier; I don't know where it went, search not working) apparently some federal agency working with diplomats in Russia have finally come up with some agreement to force it to be closed, and also forced them to release records of who has purchased mp3's from them. It clearly violates US copyright laws. A massive number of RIAA suits are expected to follow, as "I didn't know it was illegal" isn't a defense. It strikes a big blow to allofmp3 users. With all the Jon Benet threads, it must have been bumped off the top page or something.

There was actually news about Russian officials raiding the offices and shutting down their servers. But that didn't last long at all; they moved their servers to a new location and they are actually faster now.

I'm not worried about RIAA at all, records or not. But clearly at this point, the site is still operational, they are still releasing new software and new albums, and their servers are still online.

And didn't you guys know, the best defense against RIAA nowadays in unsecuring your wireless router. Then you don't know who did it.

I don't really care at this point. I've downloaded so much music from them, DRM-free, high-quality 320kbps VBR, and I paid around a dime per song. Even if they swallowed what little balance I have in my account, I'd still come out over iTunes by a few hundred dollars.
