I've been allergic to mosquito bites since I was born. Not in the same way people are allergic to bees and such, I don't go into anaphalectic shock or anything, not that I know of. And yes, I know pretty much everybody is allergic to the anti-coagulant mosquitoes inject into the site they feed from. But with me, the welts I get on average are the size of a quarter in diameter and probably raised 1/4 inch or more off the normal surface of the skin. And it's not uncommon to see a welt as big as 2 inches around on me. I once had a bite on my inner thigh that measures roughly 5 inches across and 1/4 inch high - yes, it was a single bite, and yes it was from a mosquito.
So, if I walked into a swamp in the south, would I walk out alive?
(Sorry, bored on lunch)
