Just got these for the office:

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...EX76P5SNAQQY0P

And after switching away from our old leather chairs I've been sneezing and getting runny noses/dry eyes, though it's getting warmer out in SD as well so that may be the cause of it.

Plus when my skin makes contact with the back of the chair there's a weird sensation I don't get with other materials. Anyone else experience a similar reaction to these kind of chairs?

When did you switch?

Because it's quite likely the season is to blame.

My allergies are intense this year - my nose is begging for some relief. No matter what allergy meds I use, my eyes are irritated and itchy (and I have Dry Eye Syndrome, which compounds like mad and leaves me cursing nature and her damn histamines), and my nose will not stop running. I've been through so many damn tissues, and with no relief in sight, my nose might be red halfway through Fall. ugh

I've never had them this bad. But I haven't been up here for this part of the year, continuously, for over four years. I might not have been exposed to whatever this shit is when I was down in Columbus for school.

Could be miscellaneous nasty chemicals. I assume it's typical cheap Chinese stuff.

Yeah I have heard about brand new things sometimes irritating some individuals. Their are still some residual chemicals from the entire manufacturing process, mostly locked up in the material itself. As it is broken in, those chemicals will get snapped out of the material and released - that is why you get that "new" smell, though that new smell varies based upon what the material is, of course. Over time that will dissipate.
And it doesn't really matter if it's not what has been causing the reactions. If everything else is the same, it's basically the chair or pollen.

Yeah this is allergy season (mine have kicked up as well), although you might consider vacuuming and wiping or spraying them down to see if it helps.

I struggle with allergies because I never used to have them and then the last few years I get them pretty bad in the spring, although its usually only a few days total that its real bad (I'll generally have a day or two so bad that I have to call in sick in the morning because I just sit and sneeze my head off for like 2-3 hours or so) so I haven't bothered to go see a doctor about it yet. I also moved last year and it wasn't as bad and I didn't have a problem but I visited where I used to live last weekend and had a bad allergy attack (I think part of it was one of my friends cats or maybe the area they live in because I'm not normally allergic to cats either).
