Allergies and contacts...need advice

I have really bad allergies. I'm allergic to the world basically. It's been like that all my life and I'm used to it. The one thing that is getting worse is my eyes. Lately in the mornings my eyes are too dry and nasty to get my contacts in.

I take allergy meds every day. They make things bearable but they don't fix my eyes. I tried whatever the orange $25 drops are and they help but I still can't get my contacts in.

Anyone fought this battle before? I'm due for an exam and new contacts. I'm half tempted to go back to glasses. My problem with those is I wreck them at work.

I solved this problem by just going back to glasses more or less permanently, many years ago. It's the only thing that seemed to work for me.

another option might be surgery.

I have eye allergies during parts of the year, and I have this like $300 allergy (terrible healthy insurance when it comes to prescriptions) eye drops.

Do you know what they are called?

One good thing about lil Rudeguy's diabetes is I hit my deductible really quick.

Yeah-- my solution was frequent showers. 2 showers a day got rid of the pollen on my face and took away the swelling.

Can you try getting a generic eye drops? The ones that work for me are still patented so they are super expensive but they work amazing. I swear my eyeballs get addicted to them in the summer. It feels amazing to have allergy eyes and then drop prescription eye drops into your eyes.

Are they orange and start with Z?

I've tried a ton of different ones. I'm ok spending money on this because it's a need.

Once, many years ago, I was prescribed eyedrops with cromolyn sodium. Didn't use them much, partly because whatever I have technically isn't allergies, but they helped some. The nasal spray is OTC now, but I don't know about the eyedrops.
