heh, kobe's payroll isnt even half of garnett's.

besides iverson is da bomb because look at his team mates, i wouldnt pass much either. tonight, he scored more than half of his total teams score. iverson is good, but as we have all discovered, one man doesnt win a championship. snow and mckie came through with 15 and 10 respectively, but can they be consistent? time will tell...

Payrolls aren't the only thing. What about the signing bonuses?

59. How about signing bonuses? Are they allowed? How do they count against the cap?
Teams are allowed to offer the players they sign a bonus worth as much as 25% of the total compensation, and may do so whether or not the team is over the cap.

And I'm sure the Laker signing bonuses make up that $40 million gap...

First it was Pierce with 40 then Dirk with 46 and McGrady with 43 so Allen just wanted to prove who was the best and he did. Screw the Lakers. They are like the Yankees "Money buy's championships".

AHAHAHA. Before you talk out of your @ss even more, please take a look at NBA Team payrolls. I'll spare you and your ignorance for now.

Maybe you should look at the CAP rules. Item 59. signing bonuses do not count directly to the CAP.

I'm not saying that. Portland just screwed up with trades. But that is beside my point. Look at Kobe's salary. ~12.3mil You actulay think that is what he has made? Not including endorsments but including bonuses and incentives (I think incentives actualy count towards the end a season cap). I'm not trying to make this a war. I was just stating how I feel about it.

What do endorsements and how much each player makes have to do with the original argument of "Money buys championships?" The Lakers aren't paying Kobe for doing Sprite commercials.

I guess you did not read where I said Not including endorsments. Their bonuses and incentives (PPG, APG, etc.) are NOT included in their salary.
