Makes me wonder if we still have the old IBM PS/2 system. That keyboard was loud. :)

Hey people... looks like it's a good opportunity to ask an age old question for me... How do I lock Windows XP Pro with a 101 key keyboard, the windwows key+L wouldn't work since there's no Windows key... And no I won't change the keyboard for some cheap alternative, no thanks!

Hit CTRL+ALT+DEL and press enter (assuming you're running in classic mode).

I'd say Dell Quietkey is the best.
I want a new keyboard, with extra function buttons, but the ones in shops never seem to have the same chunky feel. The name's a bit weird though, they're not the most quite keyboards in the world.
Been using the same Dell board for about 3 1/2 years now though, damned well made.

So you mean I'd have to select the 'switch user' command? Very well. Too bad there isn't any key shortcut for that :(

104 keyboards are the same thing but with the windows keys.....

It's all about the feel of they keyboard. The original IBM keyboards are loud and tactile. They'll keep your roomate up at night, but my fingers ALWAYS know when they've hit the key. As the author said, I can type a whole lot faster on these keyboards because of the feel.

And they make one with an eraser nub mouse! :)

*sniff* it's the little things in life that bring such joy...

the distinct hit of a key....music to my ears, i just recently started using the IBM model M keyboard....so shwee

It only works if you change the logon method to classic (disabling the welcome & switch user screen).

Ugh, Windoze keys are da debil!

I like the tactile feedback of those keyboards, but my Dell QuietKey is muuuuuuuuuch much quieter. I'll stick with the 104-key ones.

I deliberately seek out these keyboards in flea markets, swap meets, and discard boxes in the hallways.

But someone is manufacturing replicas with the same feel! I'm so overjoyed! :D

Back in the '80's these were the Rolls Royce of keyboards(IBM), I loved them. I've never had such a fine keyboard, but nowadays I don't know if I could handle the clicking they make.
