CNN Story

With U.S. and Iraqi forces gearing up for an expected major offensive in Falluja, interim Iraqi Prime Minister Ayad Allawi said Friday that "we intend to liberate" the city. Against this backdrop, Allawi said today the "window is closing" for a peaceful settlement in the "Sunni Triangle" city. The assault is being planned at a camp outside the city, where Marines are rehearsing urban warfare.

I thought GWB said we were victorious and liberated Iraq. What is this new second liberation?

Why do I get the feeling liberation means razing it to the ground?

How do you liberate a populace that hates your guts?

A) Sorry, I was fooled by the giant mission accomplished banner and his victory speech.
B) Answer the other questions.

The citizens of Falluja are long gone, the insurgents are the only ones left, time to eliminate as many as possible.

And you're still turning a blind eye to the truth just so you can be on the side of the winning "team"

I've been supporting Bush ever since I got on this forum, I didn't just start after he won...

I don't find it to be the truth that Bush said we were victorious. In that "mission accomplished speech", he said there was still hard work to come and more people will die...

And you know this for a fact how?

Just the other day a woman and a child were killed when they tried to flee from Fallujah.

How do we know if there are citizens left or insurgents left did gallop do a poll or something? Or do you mean we have allowed all non-military aged men to leave and are going to claim that everyone that didn't is against us?

They have given ample warning to the insurgents.
Talk to the soldiers that say there is no better feeling than having the people tell them how much they appreciate them being there.

From all accounts the majority of the citizens have left in preparation for the offensive.

How many Iraqi citizens, aid workers, police officers have been killed by the resistance fighters? I'll give them all the benefit of the doubt, they are ALL Iraqi ONLY working for the benefit of the people of Iraq.....

That wouldn't tell me much except about the soldiers' emotions...

Maybe the people in Falluja killed the aid works, police officers, and citizens that they couldn't trust to say that the only people left are insurgants. Then in a couple of days we will get pictures of grandmother holding up dead childern. I doudt that insurgants stayed around while the US was evacuate citizens. Im sure they could read the writing on the wall.

We could reinstall Saddam to power and resume sanctions, making sure US corps got the bulk of the corrupt money. When it is shown this corruption is leading to the deaths of over 10,000+ Iraqi citizens a MONTH we will derail any attempts to remove him from power.

So what the US was attacked by terrorists on 9/11, Putin gives Bush evidence Saddam is planning terrorist attacks on the US immediately after, big deal, why stop a good thing like the sanctions, look at how the people of Iraq were benefitting.....

Why is it the Americans and EU citizens that were so opposed to his removal from power via military force had no problems letting that corrupt program continue at the expense of 10,000+ Iraqi lives every month?
The people of the EU, other parts of the world, and some Americans were duped into believing the resistance to military force was based on PRINCIPLE, LMAO, please Infohawk as you are such a staunch objector explain to me why nothing should have been done?
