This A.M. I wiped all hard driives and installed redhat 7.3 beta (skipjack). I hadnt booted over to win2K in a long time. So I figured I could use that space better.
So far I like the new one, but am having problems getting cups to work. all else is fine.🙂

Congrats! Doesn't that just make you feel all warm and gushy inside?

What kind of problems are you having with cups?

as for cups I cant figure out if its runnig, I kept getting errot messages at first that the server was unavailable.
Now if i do lpr filename
it returns no entries

is there a way to print with cups from the commandline?

OK I got it working from the KDE control panel, but it prints a before and after page on each print job, what the heck?

Congratulations on the complete switch. I have never been able to fully get rid of windows (I still have win2k which I boot into once in a while).
I use win2k for MS Money and Xnews (I don't think anything in linux comes close for news readers).

Congrats. You're more 133t than many of us, who still dual-boot. 😉

What printer are you setting up? I'm still using the old lpr, so I couldn't help much with cups.

Well I still have XP on my laptop for MS money and quickbooks mainly.

so far I love the 7.3 its rock steady so far, Im using a brother hl1440 and love it.

now all ineed to do is stop wasting 2 pages on each print job!
