Not sure whats going on on my system but all videos (avi, mpeg, wma, etc.) are all very dark when i play them. These vids used to all play fine on my old rig. I installed the drivers straight from the evga cd that came with the vid card. All the settings in the nvidia control panel seem correct. Brightness and contrast are all at 50%.

I have a similar issue except it's not all of my videos. Not sure what the difference is but some are definately darker and the skin tones on the people are reddish?/

I never trust drivers on the included cd's. 😛 On my passive 7950GT I use and recommend the 92.91 betas. Be sure to uninstall the old ones then reboot to safe mode to run driver cleaner (choose NVIDIA).

Thanks for th tip. You think it could just be a driver issue? I don't mind switching, just curious. I'm running 91.47's. Never even looked to see what was on the cd.
Someone at hardforums recommended XG92.91 from tweaksrus.com. Are these the same?????

Yeah it definitely appears to be a driver issue. I just reinstalled the drivers from the cd and it works now... Looks like its a common prob with nvidia drivers.

Yes, it's the same NVIDIA driver build but XG "tweaks" them for IQ.

i had this problem too! what the problem was for me was that my card was being under powered. beefed up my psu, and voila!

Well, I just finished unistalling the 91.47's and installing the 92.91's and my videos still look dark and have the reddish tint. Well, one clip in particular starts out with the reddish tint then clears up but then goes back to brief parts that have this tint. And I know the video did not look like this before????

But the tivo files play all the way through with this dark picture/reddish tint making them unwatchable.
Any other ideas?

EDIT: Another strange thing is that in WMP there are adjustments for Hue, SAturation, Brightness and Contrast but if I slide the adjuster to the right or left it just goes back to the middle. And the middle is right in the red.
