I believe regular Trinitron displays are vertically flat, but FD Trinitrons (or for TVs - Wega) are both horizontally and vertically flat.

My parents have a 5-6 year old XBR Trinitron TV and it's only vertically flat.

There are also different degrees of flatness with the Trinnies, for instance, my 5 year old 19" Trinitron monitor is flat, but not quite as flat as the brand new models. Likewise, my parent's 4 year old 27" Trinitron is flatter than a regular TV, but not as flat as my new VVega.

I can't go back to any CRT. Even if it's a SONY.

:)

but I love my SONY lcd. Viewing angle is awsome. Can see the image at all angle. Unlike the dell 1800FP.
