I've been to atleast 5 different boards and seems a lot of people are having same prob and also had it happened to me,and now getting same thing on another chip.Seems that most are on the crucial but NOT all .Has anyone came up with whats happening.I've heard everything from psu to mobo which I disagree with someone stated that the ddr manufactoring process is to blam that its not perfected (no link on this would be great to find one)maybe should had stuck with tried and true sdram....any opinions?thanks...oh well time to rma another crucial ddr chip...

Hmmm I`ve not heard of any serious problems with DDR ram,I`ve been using 2x256mb of Crucial PC2100 since last November with no problems, also my friends have not had any problems with their Crucial PC 2100 ram going faulty.

At least with Crucial you get good quality ram with good customer support so you know where you are 🙂.

Maybe it's just you. I've got alot of friends using Crucial DDR and none had any problems with their RAM. That's 100% satisfaction for me and them .🙂

I've had it happen to me.. I have an epox 8kha+ and 2 sticks of 256mb PC2100 DDR from Crucial. I don't know if my situation is different though because my DIMM's only die when they are put in slot 2... so far anyway. I had one DIMM die back in january... I RMAed it and got another stick. I stuck it in slot 2 and it died the next day. So when I got another stick back from Crucial, I stuck it in slot 3 and so far it's working fine.

Personally, I think part of it is the mobo because I've heard about this situation so many times and I'd say 75% of those had Epox boards.

<< heres a link from amdmb on some ....http://www.amdmb.com/vb/showthread.php?s=&threadid=106367 oh also quite a few here on this board also most are also reporting the c1 error on the epox 8k7a which is also the memory..appears that most are having chips go bad after 4-6 months of great use ... >>

Weird that this thread came up because my Crucial RAM just died :Q I thought it never happens, but I used it for about 6 months and it died... 😕 Hmmm, seems that this is more common than I thought.

What voltage are these people running the memory at? DDR default is 2.5 volts, most boards default to 2.55~2.65 volts. Some people run theirs at over 3.0 volts! LOL

Cheers!

This is happening to everyone? Interesting. It has not happened to me, but it has happened to one of my roomates and another guy in the apartment next to us...

Strange

I had 3 Crucial PC2100 sticks in my AK31A. 2 x 256MB and 1 x 128 MB. 128 MB just kinda died a slow death. At first I started getting nvidia infinite loop errors that I didn't have problems with before, but I used to get those on my old computer (P3 733, GeForce1 SDR, Tyan Trinity mobo). That continued for about a week, then one day I started getting lots of BSODs and the next day computer would not post. I was suspecting RAM so that was the first thing I checked and indeed 128 MB stick was dead. I did some mild FSB overclocking tho, about 137 MHz FSB.

on mine I'm not overclocking still set at default on jumpers....yes thanks god crucial is awesome on rma ...sending them #2 now...still would be great to now if its really epox or bad chips causing this....

hmm weird i see this thread. i just had to send a crucial 256mb back for rma because it was corrupting my windows files.
